2024 Corn Hill Arts Festival Countdown Begins with Unveiling of Commemorative Poster
Rochester, NY, June 7, 2024 -The Corn Hill Neighbors Association is thrilled to kick o the countdown to the 2024 Corn Hill Arts Festival, presented by ESL Federal Credit Union, with the ocial unveiling of the commemorative festival poster earlier today at Flight Wine Bar in Corn Hill Landing.
Robin Plummer, the 2024 Corn Hill Arts Festival Chairperson, conveyed the community’s enthusiasm, stating, "This poster unveiling is a pivotal moment in our festival's journey each year. It symbolizes the vibrant history of our neighborhood and highlights a tradition that has thrived for over half a century. It's also a joyful reminder for our dedicated volunteers and supporters that the festival is just around the corner."
The poster, designed by renowned artist and Rochester native, Jessica Nikic, encapsulates the spirit of the festival and will be featured on festival merchandise.
Jessica Nikic, renowned for her contemporary realist and abstract paintings, revealed the inspiration behind the poster, expressing, “My artwork pays homage to the nostalgic charm and whimsical aura of Corn Hill, a neighborhood that exudes the timeless magic of a storybook.” She further remarked, “Being involved in a festival that celebrates the rich tapestry of one of Rochester's most historic neighborhoods is truly a privilege.”
In addition to remarks from Plummer and Nikic, the ceremony also included comments from Rochester Deputy Mayor, Mike Burns, and Rich Pulvino, from ESL Federal Credit Union. These two organizations have been steadfast supporters of the festival over the years and continue to play crucial roles in ensuring its success.
In addition to the poster unveiling, details about special events that will be featured at this year's festival were also shared, these include:
The 14th Annual Emerging Artist Expo, presented by MVP Health Care: A platform for new artists to display their work and share their inspirations. For the first time this year, the Emerging Artist Expo is now available to a broader range of artists. Traditionally for artists aged 15-23 there will now be two categories; Young Emerging Artists (15-23) and Emerging Artists (24+).
The return of the Annual Fairy Houses, Presented by Roc Star Realtors of Howard Hanna and supported by KidsOutAndAbout and The Strong National Museum of Play: A fan-favorite family event that encourages creativity in all ages.
The 3rd Annual Corn Hill 5K, presented by Fleet Feet: Offers a scenic morning run along the Genesee Riverway Trail.
The Corn Hill Arts Festival is scheduled to take place on July 13 and July 14, 2024, and in addition to those special events, will feature over 350 original artists, 15 music performances across four stages, food trucks, and two beer and wine gardens. The festival will run from 10am to 6pm on Saturday and 10am to 5pm on Sunday, rain or shine, in the historic Corn Hill Neighborhood. Admission is free.
